A Three-Part Garment Sewing Experience-BYO Sewing Machine
Make your very own Wave Float Top during this immersive, three-session sewing series. We’ll walk you through each step, from choosing your size to adding the final stitch.

This workshop is perfect for beginner sewists who are ready to grow their skills and complete a full garment in a supportive, small-group setting.

Please note: You must bring your own sewing machine. It’s essential that you already feel confident threading your machine (top and bobbin), winding and loading a bobbin, and sewing a straight and consistent seam allowance.

If you're not quite there yet, no worries—consider booking a private session or two with Vod to get sewing-machine-ready before the workshop begins!

Registration: $300

Your registration includes:

  • 2.5 yards of fabric from our shop (choose from any of the fabric that is $15/yard or less)

  • Use of studio tools (cutting mats, irons, pins, etc.)

  • 7 hours of small-group instruction

  • An infinite amount of encouragement!

  • **Pattern Purchase ($14) is not included in the workshop cost.

  • After you purchase your pattern, you’ll receive an email with a link to download your files to your computer.

Pro tip: Create a folder on your computer called WAVE FLOAT TOP so you can keep everything organized and easy to find for future use.

The download will include four files:

    1. Copy Shop A0 File – Use this if you plan to have the pattern printed professionally on two large sheets of paper.

    2. Print-at-Home File – This is a 25-page pattern you can print on your home printer and tape together. This is the method I personally use (and actually enjoy!). If you go this route, we’ll assemble the pattern together on the first night of the workshop.

    3. Instructions (10 pages) – Printing is optional, but I do recommend having a printed copy on hand.

    4. Projector File – If you have a projector, this file lets you project the pattern directly onto your fabric—no printing needed! I haven’t tried this method yet myself, but it’s definitely intriguing.

  • Worried about this step? Vod is available to be support for any issues you have with printing!

    Two Printing Options:

    • Print 25 pages at home (This is easy, but make sure you test print just the first page first to make sure the 1” box is indeed 1”)

    • Order a large print copy from https://pdfplotting.com (cost approximately $20 and you need 3 days for shipping)
